Camping Recipes Using Foil

I'm looking for recipes that can easily done on a campfire ideally using foil wrap?

I'm working at a children's summer camp this summer and I need more recipe's, which are similar to the common Banana boat and s'more recipe's. I will have groups of 8-12 kids, so common recipe's which use pots or dutch ovens really are not applicable- does anyone know of any other food that can be done using aluminum foil in the hot coals of a campfire?

Camping Equipment And Supplies says...

Make packets using a boneless pork chop, chicken breast, chicken tenders, or HB patty. In that, layer thin potato slices, onion, S&P, ketchup or Heinz 57, maybe a spoonful of canned tomatoes. Seal up and toss into coals. Give it 35-40 min, depending upon heat of coals. Flip every now and then.

You can also do a not-quite-ripe banana (still green on tops) and/or a couple pineapple rings or p/a chunks, and some butter and brown sugar, dash of cinnamon if you like. Same deal, just takes 15 min or so.

Use double-thickness, heavy-duty foil.

Good campfire recipes?

Hey everyone,

Probably my favorite thing in the world is going on fishing/camping trips down to Spruce Knob West Virginia. I'm looking for some new, interesting and good recipes to try out on my next trip. I love cooking and love it even more when I'm cooking over a fire. I have a tripod fire grill that holds a little grade that hangs over the fire so you can cook things without actually puttng them on the fire.

Usually my menue consists of fire pies(taking bread and buttering one side and toasting it then puting either some sort of pie filling or pizza sauce with cheese and pepperoni in them)

I cook the fish we catch by taking aluminum foil, spraying it with butter pam and sprinkle salt, pepper, and creole seasoning on it, then laying the cleaned fish with the skin still on, on the foil, then putting butter on them, wrapping them in the foil, then cooking them over the fire)<-probably the best fish you'll ever have, we go trout fishing so that's usually the fish we eat down there

French onion soup (cuttin a hole in a large onion and placing a beef broth cube in it, then putting butter in the hollowed out hole, then covering the entire onion with butter, wrapping it in foil, then cooking it until the broth cube dissolves)

deer steaks/burgers

cheesy potatoes (taking potatoes and cutting them up into small chunks, place them in foil, throw in some butter, cheese wiz, and shredded chees, and cook them over the fire, then mash them up after they are done cooking)

Ok so that's all i've got, does anyone have any good recipes that I could try out on my next trip?

Thanks!

Fishing and camping, both great! Anyways you could make hobo dinners, which consists of putting cabbage, pieces of meat (i use beef), onions, peppers, or really anything you think would taste good and wrapping it up in tin foil and cooking it over a fire until its done. Also, using leftover ingredients from your hobo dinner you could make a kabob easy to make and to eat! there's always hot dogs and bratwursts, can't forget s'mores! peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches aren't campfire food but they don't spoil like most sandwiches. Always bring a skillet you can make eggs bacon grilled cheese, omelets and tons of other stuff...hope this helps!
